Barbican Leisure Park
Barbican Leisure Park hosts anti Drink and Drive event

Dozens of people gathered at the Barbican Leisure Park for an educational event aimed at highlighting the dangers of drink driving.

The emergency services staged a mock-up car crash in which a pretend casualty was cut from a car to demonstrate the devastating consequences drinking and driving can have.

Members of the public were able to talk to members of the different emergency recovery teams and obtain advice on many subjects including crime prevention and how to stay safe over the festive period.

The seasonal event was organised by Devon and Cornwall Police and the Devon and Somerset Fire Rescue Service.

John Blakemore, Manager of Barbican Leisure Park, said: “We were thrilled to support this important local event which every year helps to highlight the dangers of drink driving as well as promoting the excellent work carried out by the emergency services.”

“We are fully committed to protecting the safety of motorists who drive to Barbican Leisure Park and as such we have successfully retained the national police Park Mark award for safer parking.”
